Ekko is a shy but gentle German shorthaired pointer mix who bolted in fear at hearing a loud noise, and WAS lost in the Arlington/Falls Church area - just weeks after settling in with his new family. We are thrilled that he has been found!

About Ekko (aka Big Boy)
Breed: Male, German Shorthair Pointer Mix (with Border Collie)
Color: Black with black and white speckled chest and paws. White tip on tail. Specked patch on back of neck.
Age: 1 Year
Size: Large (55 lbs.), tall with long legs, long tail
Description: Ekko is a shy sweet gentle dog who can be easily spooked by loud noises and shouts. He can run VERY fast and is strong! He is picky about food, but likes smelly meaty snacks. He loves squeaky toys, socks, old tee shirts, and slippers. He does respond to “Watch Me” and “Sit” particularly if he smells a snack. He also responds to “Here Big Boy”, "Puppies”, and “Here Sincere”. ("Sincere" was his foster brother -- he may think Sincere is nearby!!)
Approaching Ekko: Remain calm. PLEASE DO NOT CHASE, SHOUT OR CALL OUT TO HIM. Do not approach standing or make eye contact; instead sit on the ground with your back to him, and throw treats over your shoulder to him.

Can you Help Us Find Ekko?
We know that it will take MANY Ekko friends & supporters to help him find his way back home. Best if we work together toward this common goal.
If you are in a position to come out to the areas where Ekko was lost from and has been seen, of course that's great! But please don't think you can't help if you can't be on site. We have jobs for people that can only devote time late in the evening, from home or otherwise away from the sighting area. Email me using the link below to find out how.
We know, too, that some of Ekko's supporters are working on their own to search for and spread the word about his plight. Whatever you're doing, please keep me informed, by email or by way of the Comments. Among other things, we can reduce duplicate efforts by coordinating all efforts centrally.

This is a very heart warming story. To Ekko's Vet who wrote it, please contact me. I am "Big Boy's" first foster Mommy from Southwest Va. I have a few interesting facts for you about his first year of life. lmccall24202@yahoo.com
