Ekko is a German Shorthair Pointer mix, about 1 year old, adopted from HART to Maureen & Terry, in Arlington VA, on 7/18/2009.
17 days after settling in with his new family, on 8/4/09 at about 7:30pm, there was a loud noise just as they were returning to the house from a walk, and Ekko bolted and ran to the end of his leash. That freaked him out too and he bolted, again, and got away. He did have his collar with all his tags on; we believe his leash has been cut and is no longer dragging behind him.
Here are some details about Ekko:

If you have seen Ekko, please call his owners, Terry and Maureen at 703-403-5069 or 703-533-9104, or Linda (HART) at 703-470-7981.
Efforts so far:
Ekko's scent has been trailed by a dog & handler trained in finding missing pets -- Sam with Pure Gold Pet Trackers. The track shows that he has moved around a lot in his days on the run. More details will be posted as soon as they are available.
Some fliering has taken place, but much more of this and other types of outreach are needed to spread the word so that people who have seen him know who to call. There are many ways to help spread the word, and if you want to know how to do so, email Nancy Despeaux.
